Taiwan-based Smartphone manufacturer HTC is reportedly planning to open a new US R&D office concentrating on wireless technology research, according to a CNET report on December 21. The new US R&D office will be located in Durham, North Carolina, and is slated to be set up in the first quarter of 2011. The new office is expected to start operation with a staff of about 45, adding to the existing 250 personnel in the United States. This new R&D center will be HTC's third such facility in the United States, after the ones in Seattle and San Francisco.
